Penelope has long taken artistic inspiration from her time in the historic, charming village of Frigiliana. Come enjoy the beauty and peace of the Costa del Sol: Spain’s glorious, sunny, southern coast. Andalucia, with its Moorish influence, is an exotic but welcoming part of Spain.  Frigiliana was voted the 'prettiest village in Andalucía' by the Spanish Tourism Authority. The house is for rent on a weekly basis. See for yourself why Penelope says: “Frigiliana is the most magical place on Earth”.

The house overlooks the Mediterranean Sea from its perch in the village of Frigiliana, five kilometers from the coast. The village is still reliant on agriculture, although there are good restaurants, bars and other tourist amenities.

With its location at the base of the Sierras, there are any number of walks into the mountains and countryside from the house and village. Nearby beaches abound, as do many points of interest, such as Granada (1-3/4 hours away). Malaga Airport is under an hour’s drive, with all international connections available.

The house itself is situated at the top of the village. There are outstanding views over the tile rooftops of the village, down over the olive groves, and to the sea, and beyond. The house is reached by foot since cars are not allowed in the village. It is about an eight-minute walk from the village car park at the base of Frigiliana.

The house is mainly open format with two bedrooms and beautiful views of the valley, mountains and sea. The garden is large, steep and stepped.   There are fruit trees, and a shady terrace just off the kitchen. There is a vast and extremely old fig tree at the top of the garden which affords a lovely cool spot, even in the heat of summer. A perfect place to paint, read, chat, meditate, or have a siesta. Perhaps a bottle of good, inexpensive, local Spanish wine is in order?

RENTAL CHARGES:

Xmas Holiday is considered Mid season.
5% discount for two-week stays. 10% for three week, or more, stays.

Rentals go from Saturday to Saturday. If you would like to stay an odd number of days during high season, you will be charged for the whole week.  During other seasons, you will only be charged for each extra day.
